Dear Fluttershy by Pyrestorm Dear Fluttershy by Pyrestorm
This is a crossover with Dear Esther. Why Fluttershy, I don't know. The red glow is the aerial. I painted this in Paint Tool SAI, mostly while delirious from a lack of sleep or something.

As for why this picture, I don't know either, besides that I tend to have some of the Dear Esther OST mixed in with the music I listen to while I paint, so I may have figured that it was about time to make a fan picture of it. I was originally going to have Pyre there, but a male character wouldn't fit.

Dear Esther isn't really a game, but I'm okay with that. I loved it and found it memorable all the same.

This should be called Dear RainbowDash, since it's the one who they are in love with that the game's title refers to.

same with my drawing, if its sad and emotional music i have the need to draw something like this! Which sorta motivates me to draw (not sort of a whole crap load actually) and if its wooden toaster or living tombstone i have the need to make rainbow dash flying or ponies with guns or warrior ponies! Lol me and you are alike then...
Looks great.

Most of the time I am not affected by music while I make pictures because I just grab a bunch of stuff and hit the blender.
It could be

Classical music
Jazz - Blue note artists
Weird al
Nine inch nails.

The mood is usually set by the type of music during the sketch phase and sometimes the initial base colors. For the rest of the picture it's other types of music, and then sometimes the original music again while making the finishing touches, just to see how it all fit together.

I used to draw a lot to Nine Inch Nails. I've yet to try starting a full color painting while listening to that.
Wonder if "Head Like a Foal" would work for you?

I like the beginning of "The Wretched", it sounds so foreboding.
The type of music they would play before the good and bad guys fight.

I did 2 pictures inspired by songs.
One was based on a Static X song and another was based on a song from Wall of Voodoo.
I even changed the lyrics for the static x song.
Let me know if you want the links.

I’ve begun my voyage in a paper boat without a bottom; I will fly to the moon in it.
I have been folded along a crease in time, a weakness in the sheet of life.
Now, you’ve settled on the opposite side of the paper to me; I can see your traces in the ink that soaks through the fibre, the pulped vegetation.
When we become waterlogged, and the cage disintergrates, we will intermingle.
When this paper aeroplane leaves the cliff edge, and carves parallel vapour trails in the dark, we will come together.

something about this reminds me of Dear Esther, if not for the title
